What is Savasana - How to Practise for Rest & Renewal

We are delighted to welcome Adam Hocke to Central Wellness for two special workshops. Adam is a long-time teacher of vinyasa flow and restorative yoga at triyoga London, and senior student and assistant to Jason Crandell.

Why do we need to lie down at the end of the class? What would happen if we didn’t?

This workshop explores the meaning and function of savasana, or final relaxation, in a vinyasa flow class. We will practice and learn a variety of yoga tools to lead us to a restful savasana, including slow sun salutations, passive stretching, self-massage, and restorative postures.

A variety of savasana prop options will be given to accommodate all varieties of restlessness. We will conclude with a twenty-minute savasana.

Adam enjoys teaching new groups of students and opening them up to different approaches to postures, flow and contextualising practice, to physically awaken and renew the body and mind.

His writing has appeared at Huffington Post and in Om Yoga Magazine. He also teaches streaming classes on Movement for Modern Life.

Adam will also be teaching a morning Inversions workshop at the studio.
